About Me.
Hi, I am Claire Foord. An abstract artist born in Adelaide. I live and work on the Traditional Lands of the Kaurna People in Willunga on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula.
My artwork celebrates colour & transformation in a style which is exposed, unpredictable & liberated. Drawing on the emotive response to changing perspectives, my work is filled with distinctive layers of repetitive mark making and loose brush strokes. Using bold and vibrant colours to reflect different world views and personal perspectives, I highlight hidden issues and world views. Working predominately in 2D, my exhibitions most often offer ann immersive experience, using multidisciplinary techniques to invoke a full sensory experience.

Creating art is when I feel most at peace, I am safe, time stalls and every part of my being becomes one with my work. There is a vulnerability to my work; rawness and emotion to spill into my art without hesitation or question.

Educated at Montreal's Concordia University in Fine Arts and University of South Australia’s, School of Art, Architecture and Design, I graduated in with an Award of Merit and Golden Key Honours. Past awards and grants have enabled me to exhibit abroad.
