Your Artist Update!

Since my successful Nude Organics exhibition it has been busy in CLAiRE’s ART STUDiO. Busying myself with a large amount of commission work I was pleased to bring my artwork into the community recently…

 

GLENELG LIVE ART PROJECT…

In a Glenelg South laneway where a high level of foot traffic passes, once lay a heavily graffitied wall, on which you will now find a 5 meter high mural which has bought the lane to life once more. The Glenelg South See Here mural project was launched on 30 June with the community involved in choosing a theme for the wall space. It was terrific to have local council and businesses providing the support needed to get the project running. This enabled local school classes, with teachers in tow, to come past during their lesson time to be part of live art in action and learn about art in the community. I loved the questions and enthusiasm from children and adults alike and greatly appreciate the enthusiasm to the project. A local children’s author was also inspired by the work and I am very excited to say has featured the mural in one of her new stories! LOOK OUT MONTREAL A NEW ARTISTS IN TOWN…

You may be interested to hear that earlier this year I was awarded a scholarship to paint in Montreal and will be headed there in August for a visit, brushes ready. Its a very exciting time and much artwork I’m sure will be on its way through new sources of inspiration and materials. You can keep an eye out for details of my first international exhibition.

 

SALA EXHIBITION ON NOW…

You may be pleased to know that even though I will be abroad, there is another exhibition in Australia for 2011. Through the SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival a ‘window shopping’ exhibition is NOW OPEN at 6 Moseley Street, Glenelg. The exhibition showcases combined works celebrating some of my artistic influences and includes abstract, organic and realist pieces. The exhibition will be showing until the end of August and can be viewed 24 hours, no appointment required, simply stroll past at your leisure.
