Born in Adelaide, South Australia in March 1982, Claire Foord is an emerging Australian artist. Educated at the University of South Australia’s, School of Art, Architecture and Design she graduated in 2011 with an Award of Merit and Golden Key Honours.
Being awarded the Government of Australia’s UMAP Scholarship and University of South Australia Travel Grant enabled Claire to study Fine Arts at Concordia University, Montreal. During her studies in Montreal Claire filled the role of Gallery Intern for Art Matters and Studio Intern at Galerie Synesthesie. Claire has exhibited in the SALA festival two years running 2011 & 2012. Other exhibitions include, but are not limited to, Con.nec.tion at Fringe Benefits Gallery, a group exhibition for which Claire was also curator. See Here Mural, a live art exhibition and Nude Organics, her first solo exhibition at Grace Emily Gallery. Claire’s work has been selected for several international exhibitions including the Nude But Not Rude exhibition at Linus Gallery in California, USA and Material Culture at Galerie VAV in Montreal, Canada.
Claire’s work is part of private collections in Australia, New York and Canada and the Concordia University Collection in Montreal.
Claire has been interviewed by ABC Radio and Radio Adelaide. Her work has been documented in The Messenger newspaper, Rip It Up Magazine and several other online and print media forms.
